HOW TO ACCESS

Access Methods from Osaka Station

Shinkansen: 2 hou 10 minutes
Car: 4 hours and 20 minutes
Helicopter: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Access by bullet train

From either Osaka Station or Shin-Osaka Station, take the JR Shinkansen "Nozomi" or "Sakura" to Okayama Station. From Okayama Station, transfer to the JR Uno Line and ride for about 50 minutes to the final stop, Uno Station. From Uno Station, walk for about 5 minutes to Uno Port, where you can take a ferry or high-speed boat. In approximately 20 to 30 minutes, you will arrive at Naoshima.

Access by car

Take the Hanshin Expressway or the Meishin Expressway towards Okayama. Exit the Sanyo Expressway at Hayashima IC, and from there it takes about 40 minutes on local roads to Uno Port. From Uno Port, take a ferry to Naoshima. Please note that cars cannot be loaded onto the high-speed boat, so you will need to use a parking lot around Uno Port. However, cars can be loaded onto the large ferry, allowing you to tour Naoshima by private car. The high-speed boat takes 15 minutes, while the large ferry takes 30 minutes to reach Naoshima.

Helicopter access

Chartering a private helicopter from Osaka is the fastest way to access Naoshima. It takes about 20 minutes by car from Osaka Station to Osaka (Maishima) Heliport. While enjoying the beautiful views of Osaka city and the Seto Inland Sea coast, you will land at Uno-port Heliport in approximately 55 minutes. You can reach Naoshima in 10–20 minutes by ferry or high-speed boat.

Note: As of January 2025, the helipad at "Benesse House Museum" on Naoshima is not in use.
